The film took fans down to the ice and inside the locker room following the unforgettable Game 6 win against Tampa Bay, and relived the spectacle of the championship parade and rally at Soldier Field. Viewers then followed the Cup on its journey from North America to Finland, Slovakia and Sweden as the players savored the greatest tradition in sports.
The film was recognized with an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Sports Programs from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The creative team utilized the team's photography to create the movie's branding and visual identity, highlighting the iconic moments during the Blackhawks' championship run. The team developed a full suite of promotional assets and advertising, including the DVD/Blu-ray packaging that garnered the Bronze Leaf Award in the category of Best Use of Cold Foil (Sheet or Rotary) on Paperboard Label/Carton at the Foil & Specialty Effect Association’s 23rd Annual Gold Leaf Awards Competition.
The organization held a movie premiere at the historic Chicago Theatre, and the Blackhawks Creative and Event teams collaborated to create a memorable experience for invited guests and fans. The Blackhawks partnered with the Daily Herald newspaper to host public screenings at suburban theaters and Jewel-Osco to sell DVD/Blu-ray discs at all Chicagoland locations.
