Blackhawks Store
In October 2014, the Chicago Blackhawks opened their flagship retail store, the Blackhawks Store, at 333 North Michigan Avenue. The project, designed by with Chipman Design Architecture and constructed by Clune Construction, transformed the landmark location into a 5,000 square-foot, two-story retail location at one of the most highly-trafficked locations in Chicago at the intersection of Wacker Drive and Michigan Avenue. The store is equipped to host live radio and television broadcasts and features over 20 video screens with up-to-the-minute Blackhawks content, including live games. Three interactive touchscreens, created by the Montreal-based Moment Factory, are located on the second floor and allow fans to play Blackhawks trivia and view franchise history and current player information. Blackhawks Creative partnered with each vendor to bring the team’s identity and spatial design elements to life, and ensure cohesion and consistency throughout the space. The team was responsible for the design of branded installations, including the uniform history display in the street-level window near the Michigan Avenue entrance.
